We love watching designers at work. Whether it’s hearing the excitement in their voices as they describe their creations or simply watching the way they sketch circles, there’s always a lot of energy just waiting to be unleashed.
Road & Track magazine — before it was harshly uprooted from Southern California and rebuilt in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan — decided to capture this on video, visiting some of the local talent working in the many design studios in their local area.
For their first episode, the Road & Track team stopped by Toyota’s CALTY Design Research, the first satellite design studio ever inaugurated in the Southern California area, and asked Studio Chief Designer Ian Cartabiano to create, and then destroy, his sketch for the ultimate sports car.
