Head of Audi Design Center California Shares His Views On Design

Jae Min is one of the coolest guys I know. Sure, it helps that we’re from the same part of the world — he was raised just down the street from where I played stickball in the streets — and can reminisce about the ‘old days’ and simpler times.

Though Jae and I may have some things in common, we also went down very different life paths. While he attended the Art Center College of Design to eventually become Head of the Audi Design Center in California, I did not.

Recently he’s been given a new company car, an A3 e-Tron, which he uses as his daily driver around southern California, land of many charging points. From his office in Santa Monica to Art Center where he teaches, there are at least 20 places to top off on a bit of electric car juice before the reserve light kicks on. It just depends on which route he chooses to take.

So it’s only natural that Jae was one of ten employees selected to be an ‘e-Pilot’, sharing his experience with the electric A3 in his daily life in and around Los Angeles.

So how does it fit his lifestyle? Well that remains to be seen.

For now, you’ll just have to content yourself with the video above to hear his thoughts on the new program, his views on design, and him ordering a burger at In & Out. “Animal style.” As if there were any other way…
