Tripod Nomadic Shelter

The Tripod is a nomadic housing vehicle concept created by Paul Nichols.

Aiming to solve the problem of temporary housing being built and torn down as the emerging BRIC nations build up their urban environments, Nichols devised a vehicle that doubles as a temporary housing structure for migrant workers.

The vehicle features extruded sections of triangular ‘bricks’ which make up its body panels. These can be used and expanded in a modular way so the structure can fit on a variety of plots.

The construction companies would subsidize the innovative solution so their workers can use the pods as on-site housing, moving them to other sites once the job was completed.
