Back in 2012, my former colleague Brett Patterson and I put our heads together and began laying down the groundwork for a new vehicle design title that was different to other websites covering car design. Brett had founded Car Design News in 2000 and brought me on as the website’s first employee in 2005. In 2008 he sold the site and me with it, but by 2012 it was clear that it was time for a change.

We wanted something that was more intuitive, better presented and offered more interactive content — something that we felt was missing from other publications. Brett soon found a full-time job in China and so I was left to elaborate on the initial plan and create the website on my own, writing the stories, taking the pictures and shooting videos that were unique and offered a different perspective on the automotive design world. I officially launched Form Trends in October 2013 to huge acclaim within the industry.

Tirelessly covering the automotive design industry in all corners of the globe, my focus is not only on the products but also the people that work to create them. While the website is run by myself (many people think the team is far larger than that, which makes me smile) I occasionally bring like-minded automotive enthusiasts and respected industry professionals on board to provide users coverage that is unrivalled worldwide.

I hope you’ll enjoy reading the exclusive articles, watching the videos and flipping through the photos I publish here. And if you have a design story that you want to share, are interested in advertising or simply want to say hello, please drop me a line on the contact page. I’ll endeavor to respond to your query within 24 hours.

Thanks!
Eric
