The DS4 is a new mid-size crossover from PSA’s DS Automobiles premium brand, which was conceived in 2009. Initiated to sell more upmarket vehicles under a historic nameplate synonymous with luxury and prestige, DS brand models were always based on common platforms and fell short of the character of the lauded 1955 DS model. It’s taken a while to get there, but with the 2021 DS4 it finally looks like PSA’s premium brand is finally coming into its own and carving out a niche for itself.
