Behind the Scenes of the Ford GT Design with Forza Motorsport

Video games continue to play a large part in the launch of some recent sports cars. And while the Gran Turismo Racing game for Sony’s Playstation has stolen its share of headlines, Microsoft, the makers of the new Forza Motorsport 6 game for Xbox One, isn’t sitting idly by.

Enter the new Ford GT, the undeniable star of the recent Detroit auto show, which is set to feature alongside the Raptor and Shelby GT350 in the 10th anniversary edition of the game.

Coinciding with the launch of the Ford GT in Detroit and in the run up to the debut of Forza Motorsport 6 in June, Microsoft revealed this video showing its intention to gamers. Now the company has released a second video (above), which gives us a rarely seen behind the scenes peek at the design development of the Ford GT.

As expected, Ford’s chief technical officer, Raj Nair, features first, but some of the design team ultimately responsible for creating the carbon fiber supercar also get their, errr, 15 seconds, including Chris Svensson, director of design for The Americas, and global director of interior design Amko Leenarts. Even young interior designer Dave McCall gets a cameo.
