Coventry 2013: CITY Concept

The CITY concept (Compact, Intelligent Transport for You) is Aaron McTurk’s final master’s thesis project from Coventry University’s winter degree show. The single seat concept is a proposal for a privately owned vehicle for future generations.

Based on a scenario where cities are highly dense and pedestrianized with the traditional car being too large and cumbersome, the CITY concept offers a more useable and convenient alternative to scooter or bicycle transport. The concept is fitted with Mecanum wheels to enhance manoeuvrability in tight environments.

Designed to be low weight, low speed and with a small footprint, the CITY concept takes inspiration from its intended environment. Its two main aesthetic inspirations are modern architecture and product design.
