Besides mere ‘styling’, there is a lot that goes into creating a vehicle design. The increase in electric vehicle development where cars operate in near silence has created practical challenges and car companies are currently grappling with solutions. Sound is a critical element not only in improving safety for pedestrians and other road users but also user engagement. Imagine removing the sound of a V8 powerplant from a supercar. It wouldn’t have the same aural attributes and would lose a critical communication element with its user as well as some of its character.
