Skoda Respir concept

A three-day 700km road trip through Spain is Norwegian Jan Christian Osnes’ inspiration and starting point for his UMEA University thesis, for which he chose to create a Skoda concept for the year 2020. He calls it the Respir.

Osnes asked himself if this trip would be possible with an electric car, and what would be required technically to make it possible to run that distance without recharging. He then focused his research on new propulsion technologies like IBM’s Battery 500. An early personal desire was to design an electric car based on the idea of an “agile two-seater GT with a new electric identity” rather than an electrified existing vehicle.

The Skoda Respir is a concept for the near future where technology is used to dictate and inspire the shape of a GT without losing history and traditions.
