There has been much speculation surrounding Giles Taylor’s next move since he abruptly resigned from his role as design director at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars earlier this summer. It has now been confirmed that he has joined China’s FAW (First Auto Works) Group as Global Vice President of Design and Chief Creative Officer.
Reporting directly to FAW Group chairman Liuping Xu, Taylor’s new role will see him oversee the complete range of FAW products (including autonomous passenger cars), develop design strategies and build up the design team from the ground up.
