Audi has confirmed plans to build the entry-level Q1 SUV by 2016.
The Q1 will be part of a new model offensive that will see the brand expand its product range from the current 49 models to more than 60 by 2020.
The model will effectively see the brand increase its SUV production volume to more than 35 percent from its current 28 percent proportion.
