In the past few years, the design community has been actively discussing the potential of electric car platforms. Without a conventional ICE to package, there is more freedom to design a vehicle around a much more compact electric platform. The possibilities for design freedom are seemingly endless. One must remember, however, the constraints of the automotive business, where economies of scale reign supreme.
