Porsche 550 Concept

Art Center graduate Alexander Lozev differentiated himself by modifying his sketch techniques to match each project, and presented two especially noteworthy projects.

His first project is a tribute to the legendary Porsche 550. Thoroughly simple, modern and fresh, his sketches, appearing deceptively simple, reflected this character and allowed the project to build upon the heritage of the past without appearing retro. The asymmetrical model depicted two possible design directions — one for racing, one for the street.

“This car brings Porsche back to its roots with a very simplistic design that symbolizes its character,” says Lozev. “The vehicle is extremely lightweight and has minimalist design cues just like the original. The use of primary shapes and volumes [allowed me to] create a vehicle dedicated to this concept.”
